A cold calling list is a list of numbers that you need to call without the people’s prior consent. Somehow they got on the list, maybe because they are a present customer, but now you need to try and get them to upgrade. A lot of cable and phone companies will have dozens and dozens of people that just do cold calling each day. Read more…

Jump Start Your Marketing Campaign with a Telemarketing List

Get a good list!If you want to jump start a marketing campaign then you should explore what telemarketing lists have to offer. A telemarketing list is a list of the names and phone numbers of consumers or businesses in your target market. This list can serve as your initial database.

Next, you should consider hiring an outside telemarketing services firm to contact your list.

Why Should You Hire an Outside Telemarketing Services Firm?

Unless your company has an in house telemarketing division you may also want to hire a telemarketing services company to make outbound and/or take inbound telephone calls. An effective telemarketing services company can add significant profits to your company’s bottom line because telemarketing itself is a very cost effective marketing strategy.

And because telemarketing services companies already have large scale call centers set up you will be able to capitalize on their economy of operations. Your company won’t have to invest in additional office space, phone lines, furniture, sophisticated information and telecommunications systems, computers, and telemarketing software. And it won’t be necessary to train a telemarketing staff.

What Are the Advantages of Telemarketing?

One of the advantages of telemarketing is that you can adjust your strategy as you analyze the telemarketing services firms’ results. Since telemarketers get immediate responses from a captive audience, you can have the telemarketers conduct surveys to find out what your prospects want, generate leads, have the people they speak with register for seminars, and more.

What is a Telemarketing List?

A telemarketing list is usually grouped according to the geographical location within which your prospect resides. This naturally makes it easier for you to target a specific area where your service or product is most likely to be popular. You can also rent telemarketing lists that target potential non-commercial clients by their age, occupation, in addition to their annual income.

What Is the Best Source for Telemarketing Lists?

List brokers are your best source for your telemarketing lists because they have the most up to date information. They can also help you focus on the geographic area you want to market to. Telemarketing list compilation has become a highly specialized field so it is not something you should attempt yourself if you want to get the best results.

How Much Does It Cost to Rent a Telemarketing List?

List brokers compile and rent their lists to telemarketing companies. Although prices vary, you can anticipate that the “average” telemarketing list will cost between thirty five and forty five dollars per thousand names.

The more focused your list is the more it will cost. For example, if, in addition to age, occupation, and income parameters, you would like to have your list include car owners, or people with poor credit, or homes where there are school aged children, the list will cost more to rent. But it will also be worth considerably more as far as your profits are concerned.

US Open – Golf Fever Starts Today!

This last week, it has been very sporty, what with the  FIFA World Cup. One thing is for sure, you can expect no blowing of Vuvuzela’s. That will come as a welcome relief for many armchair fans over the weekend with the US Open 2010.

However, you never know – if the craze keeps on then in five years time you may hear the deafening sound being heard on the Eighteenth Tee!!

Anyway, Tiger is shaping up and for the first time in as many years doesn’t go into the round as a favorite. I’m guessing as the winner he is . . . we’ll see another Tiger triumph this weekend.

Cold Calling Tips from the Movies

I like this film but this clip I really love. It embodies the passion of cold calling in the eighties when things were more pushy. Things haven’t changed that much since then – and you could never get away with this these days.

But the passion I love!!

Cold Calling Tips – We Want More Customers

How often do you ask yourself, “I wish I had more customers?” I bet that if you are in sales it is most likely a lot. We are constantly told that there is enough customers to go around for everyone, yet no matter how hard you try there never seems enough.

I think that worrying about customers, (or lack of) can work against most salespeople. In my seminars I see many salespeople who want to master the art of cold calling. They want instant results – today! But the reality is often different. Just tweaking a few phone skills here and some cold calling skills there, doesn’t bring in the dough overnight.

The most succesful closers of new business often worry very little about how many new customers they are getting. Instead they think differently. They think about the action needed to start the process. Yes, that’s right . . . action

Without the first initial step of action, no business can survive. All the sales books and all the tea in china cannot get you more customers without it. Once you’ve taken the decision to act the cold calling process then begins.

So in a nutshell make sure you stop worrying and start acting instead. The customers ate then only round the corner.

Amazing Techniques to Master Your Voice For “the Telephone”

Phone calls can often be the most horrifying process of marketing. It is likely the most important part in the sales process.

The listener that you are talking to can only visualize what you are like by the sound and tone of your voice. That’s all they can picture at that point.

So it is equally important when making calls to portray the correct depiction. When you teach yourself to control your voice, then you can control your calls for success! You’ll need to sound optimistic, business like, in control but not over powering.

They cannot see you so unless of course they have a photograph of you or have meet in person before they haven’t a clue what sort of person you are.

Unlike face-to-face contact which is all about visual movements in communication, the phone needs to paint a blank canvass as you go. With the phone, you’ll only have your voice to use, so master your voice to represent the right image with these tips.

Cold Calling and Telemarketing is a skill that anyone can learn. Each day just practice these steps for a few minutes and you will see that you close more cold calls.

The Four Covert Skills of Telemarketing

telemarketing and cold calling

Most prospects do not want to feel as though they are being sold to, they want to believe as though they are being looked after and served.

On any given day a person is met by thousands of commercials for the next big thing so it is no wonder that when it comes to sales, a prospect could be unresponsive when they are called.

Teachers in telemarketing and telesales training will emphasize, but also make students aware that as a telemarketing consultant there can be a lots happening and going on this prospects life, and if they are cold and never take it personally.

There are a number of reasons why a person will triumphantly reach their sales and personal goals.

Below are 5 covert key steps to follow to essentially reach your goals in cold calling over the phone.

 1. You’ve probably heard it all before but, AIDA – get their attention. Be mindful of the first few seconds of the call as this may find out whether the caller will take the time to speak with you.

Begin by explaining who you are, your organisation/business and how the prospect can benefit from you.

This is a vital and decisive step as prospects need a obvious reason to take time from their hectic timetable.

If the prospect cannot see “what’s in it for them” they will not be prepared to give you the time you need on the phone call.

2. Create acceptability and trust. Be brief and to straight to the point that you are a well respected company with a proven track record.

 3. State a solid purpose. You want to see whether their requirements meet those that your service and or product could provide. Try to forget selling and pitching and concentrate on listening and providing a service.

 4. Gather data and information. Bare in mind that some prospects are not suitable to your product or service. To find out whether they are just ask qualifying questions about their current requirements and situation. Questions like these, (criteria elicitation) show your interest whilst adding to their desire to feel appreciated.
