It is really important to do research about the target market. What are the needs and wants of the target market and what will provide maximum satisfaction to them is really important here. If a marketer or a seller knows well about the requirements and needs of the target market he can turn the cold call into a business transaction.
3. Do not be aggressive but direct
It is really important to make the opening statement an effective one. And this could only happen if the marketer or the seller of the product talks effectively. He must not be aggressive in speaking and his delivery style must be straight forward. The receiver of the phone call or the person meeting face to face to the cold caller must not get the feel that the marketer is aggressive or he is telling stories about the product or service.
4. Taking your companies name
This is one of the most important tips for cold calling. More than half of the cold calls fail to get the potential customers at once. This is because not everyone will need that product or service at the time a marketer or sales rep. makes the cold call. Taking the name of the company will make the customer remember your companies name, product or service and at the time when a customer’s need rises he will surely contact the sales rep.
5. Keep record and be flexible
Keeping record of each person to whom the marketer have called or met is really important. One must keep know how about whom he is calling and what was the discussion that took place is really important. Moreover, it is really important to be flexible. Sometimes the person at the other end does not want to talk or his/her behavior is a bit different, Therefore, the cold calling marketer or the seller must be flexible enough to adopt the new way of interacting with people of different kinds.
However, it is really tough to attract the customers by cold calling but if done perfectly then it produces a lot of profit for the Small as well as big businesses.
